Smart Approved WaterMark is Australia's labelling scheme for products and services that are helping to reduce water use outdoors and around our homes.
We are a national, not-for-profit program established by four associations:
The scheme is overseen by a Steering Committee with representation from Commonwealth and State Governments, water utilities, the four governing associations, and the chair of the scheme's Technical Expert Panel (an independent panel which assesses applications to the scheme).
We operate with a funding grant from Water Smart Australia through the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts. This funding is being used to develop the scheme and raise its profile, and gives a secure funding base over the next three years.
We are the sister scheme to the Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) scheme.
